“Our northshore offices are more convenient for some patients in need of neurosurgical care, and because of our team approach to care, they may benefit from access to our neurospecialists at our other locations if they need to,” said Frank Culicchia M.D., chief medical officer.
The clinics are led by Justin Owen, M.D., a neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of the brain and spine and its supporting structures. Dr. Owen has staff privileges at Slidell Memorial Hospital, where he will perform most of his surgical procedures. Before joining the practice, he was chief resident at the department of neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
“I look forward to representing the Culicchia Neurological Clinic as we expand our neurosurgery practice to better serve our new and existing patients on and around the north shore,” Dr. Owen said.
Culicchia Neurological Clinic’s staff of 15 neurospecialists is one of the largest on the Gulf Coast and offers expertise in several subspecialties: neurosurgery, neurology, neurotology, interventional neuroradiology and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Together, they provide a comprehensive, team approach to patients with a wide array of neurological disorders.
The clinic also has offices in Marrero and another in uptown New Orleans. Several of the clinic’s physicians are also affiliated with the departments of neurology and neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
